Read This Week: Luke 24
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly, two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright, the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified, and on the third day be raised again.'” Then they remembered. – Luke 24:1-8 NIV
A new day brings new things. It brings new opportunities, challenges, mercy, chances to make things right, and a new run at the life God has given us. Something is refreshing and exciting about all things being new. It brightens the view and lifts the spirit when we’re reminded that life offers and promises new things. On Resurrection Sunday in Luke 24, something new was about to be discovered that would change not only the women going to the tomb but the fate of humanity from that moment forward.
Jesus had been raised from the dead just like he said he would. Death had given way to the triumph of God’s sovereign plan of redemption and the fulfillment of His new covenant through Christ. Verse 3 says they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. The Lord had removed the huge stone in front of the grave, and Jesus had walked out in the newness of life. And because of the Resurrection, we have a new life. We live for Christ and leave behind the second death, the control of sin, self-interest, and destructive patterns of our old lifestyle. 2 Corinthians 5:15-17 says:
He died for everyone, so those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
When a new life begins, we have a new outlook. Luke 24 tells us that the women were afraid and put their faces to the ground in alarm and fright. But the two angels spoke and reminded them of Jesus’ promise that he must be delivered to the hands of sinners, be crucified, and be raised on the third day. Then they remembered his words, and their outlook changed. They were delighted and couldn’t wait to share the truth with others. Their sorrow had turned to joy, their anxiety turned to anticipation, and their fear turned to confidence and trust. That is the new outlook that the Resurrection gives us.
Finally, the Resurrection gives us new hope. When our future hope is real to us, it changes how we live in the present. The new hope of the first day of the week, when Jesus walked out of the grave in victory, empowers and inspires us to live for Him daily. Our new hope can make the mountaintops sweeter, the valleys less daunting, and the mundane more meaningful. It can change the decisions we make, the places we go, the people we serve, and the purpose we live for.
Joni Eareckson Tada, Christian author and speaker who suffered a devastating injury to her vertebrae at 17 years old and became a quadriplegic said this about her new life in Christ: “I, with shriveled, bent fingers, atrophied muscles, gnarled knees, and no feeling from the shoulders down, will one day have a new body, light, bright and clothed in righteousness – powerful and dazzling. Can you imagine the hope that the Resurrection gives someone spinal-cord injured like me?” The Resurrection of Jesus makes all things new.
God focused my attention to verses 40-49
40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.
44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
What He said to me about this is:
“Sometimes you don’t need to look high and far for the answers you seek. The turn of phrase “it’s hidden in plain site” is referencing when I provide you with you answers directly in front of your vision so to speak. Don’t let your mind play tricks on you when it is such. Feel the confidence in the answers I provide for you and take them to heart. Unwavering confidence in My voice gives you the guidance needed to thrive.”
This means so much to me. Sometimes what we seek is directly in front of us and we don’t need to over complicate it. Think about how amazing it is that God in all of His infinite glory, knowledge, power, everything STILL has the patience and love for us to simplify things so that we can abate any doubt (eating the fish and soothing minds of potential doubters). If that’s not true love for us I’m not sure what is. Also I noticed how confident and certain Jesus is in His words post crucifixion. There’s not any worldly nature left in Him and its just pure beauty with confidence and power but also beaming with love for us. Pretty amazing stuff. Praise you God!
Luke Chapter 24 Verse 30
And it occurred that as He reclined at table with them, He took [a loaf of] bread and praised [God] and gave. Thanks and asked a blessing, and then broke it and was giving it to them.
Luke Chapter 24 Verse 31
When their eyes were [instantly] opened and they [clearly] recognized Him, and he vanished (departed invisibly).
Luke Chapter 24 Verse 32
And they said to one another, Were not our hearts greatly moved and burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and as He opened and explained to us [the sense of] the scriptures?
Luke Chapter 24 Verse 45
Then He [thoroughly] opened up their minds to understand the Scriptures.
~God’s Blessing~
God Is Saying To Me:
Partake of me! Invite me in! Surrender what you think life is about and how you want to see it. Seek my perspective and trust me with my timing and you too will see and understand how my written word will come to pass. This is my blessing to you.
What This Means To Me:
When I surrender my will, my expectations and my perspective, then and only then, will l have full clarity and understanding of God’s will for me. When I open my heart, mind, spirit and soul to Hm and surrender my all to His answers, then I will understand spiritually hHs will for me. Having a weak and bleak perspective will not produce joy, passion, happiness, contentment and understanding of God’s will. Listening to the Holy Spirit through Christ in all things that I do will provide an opportunity to discover what God wants me to see and how God wants to make Himself known to others through me Thank you Father. God for the blessing of your son, Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of your eternal plan of salvation and the Holy Spirit with which to hear you clearly. Thank you for the hope that you gave to the world! I love you! ❤️
Luke 24:47 and that repentance [necessary] for forgiveness of sins would be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
God was saying to me
I have plans and purposes In everything I do. I know everything that is going to happen even in the midst of troubles. It’s important that you continue to learn what your purpose is for today and everyday. Your growing everyday spiritually. Your spiritual life is about who you are as my child!
Jesus was sent into the world with a purpose, that people might have life in a relationship with us, to get to know us and to know that we love them!
That’s your purpose, to continue to learn and grow in our ways and to share the good news, that Jesus is alive, and it’s important teach what repentance is about, to have a change of heart, to turn away from the old way of living and to follow Jesus in all areas of your life because it’s good and I know what’s best for you!

What this means to me is Jesus came here with a purpose to save us, so we can be with them forever and ever, the first step was when I gave my life to Jesus, I became a child of God!
It’s up to me to grow and learn in the ways of the Lord!
He didn’t die on the cross just for me to be saved, He sacrificed His life for me, I’m forgiven from all my past sins I have a new life, a purpose to share what God blessed me with a gift of Salvation!
It’s up to me to want to share this gift and it blesses My Fathers heart when I love on people for Him, thank you Father God that I get to and I hope I bless Your heart every day ❤️
Thank you Jesus for giving Your life to save those who want to be saved, I am so thankful for my life with You, with You My Father and for Your Holy Spirt that helps me to grow everyday! I Love You all so much ❤️✝️

In reading Luke 24, this is what God was saying to me. The stone was rolled away so that others could see in and be persuaded that My son Jesus was and is risen from the grave. You find Jesus only where there is resurrection life, where He is worshiped in spirit and in truth. No one will ever find the tomb of Jesus, because He is not there. The women were given the privilege of being the first to tell others of the risen Jesus. Because Jesus was risen from the dead, you can be resurrected in Him. Pray that I would open your eyes to see Jesus as He is, as being with you all the time. Jesus wants you to think and believe. The blessing of Jesus, has much power within it. You must trust in the risen Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the foundation of the Christian faith. The resurrection was My seal of approval on this sacrifice that Jesus offered for you. The resurrection shows Jesus conquered sin, death, and hell, and that He will fulfill His promise to come again, and take you to be with Him, eternally in heave. Be convicted of your sins, and your need for the Savior. You are responsible to grow your faith, learning to believe.
What this said to me was I need to believe Jesus is with me at all times. The resurrection shows His love for us and His sacrifice for us. We as women are important to Him, and He can use us to reach others for Him. It is important for me to grow my faith, by reading His words, by praying to Him, and praising Him for all that He has done for me, and by spending time with Him.

Let’s come together to worship our Lord . Let’s come together to worship our Lord lifting our hands singing hallelujah. Hallelujah our Lord has risen. Our sins are forgiven We are blessed our Lord loves us so much he is our counselor our comfort, our helper, our teacher, he is the truth I his love is overwhelming He only wants the best for me and you let’s come together to worship our Lord Singing glory, glory, glory. We are blessed, blessed we have Jesus’s spirit in us. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen.
Our Lord has a plan and a wonderful purpose for all of us. Let’s not lose the opportunities he has for us. Let’s show others his love.
