The Deliverer

Read This Week: Revelation 5

And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because you were slain, and with your blood, you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them a kingdom and priests to serve our God.” – Revelation 5:9-10 NIV.

Revelation 5 gives us one inspiring and majestic moment after another. It begins with the picture of God holding a scroll sealed seven times. John sees writing on both sides and understands what is inside is done and final. He becomes emotional at the angel’s question of who is worthy to open the scroll. He knows that no one in Heaven or on earth is worthy enough, and his tears come from realizing that God’s ultimate plan of redemption for the world and all people would not be complete unless the scrolls open. Then John’s weeping turns to a celebration at the pronouncement that the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals (v.5).

Jesus, with his many names and titles, is the Deliverer. He is the only One worthy to stand at the center of the throne, take the scroll from the hand of God and open it for all time. Jesus Christ is the Deliverer because He is the only One who meets all the characteristics and qualifications to be so. The Deliverer had to be in the lineage of David (v.5), willing to deliver (v.9), and able to deliver (v.9). As John wrote in his gospel (1:14), Jesus became flesh and lived among us and out of his grace, sovereignty, and amazing love willingly laid down his life. And only His shed blood can redeem, restore, and save.

Imagine how John felt to write those words and then see them playing out in the heavenly place before his eyes. It had to incite a measure of peace and spiritual fulfillment that he had never experienced, even when he walked with Jesus on earth. It had to cause him to worship the Lord as his Deliverer like never before. And worship breaks out three times in this chapter as the crowds of Heaven praise and revere Christ. The first time of worship is led by the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders in verses 9-10:

You are worthy of taking the scroll and opening its seals because you were slain, and with your blood, you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

Then they are joined by a pretty incredible choir made up of thousands upon thousands and ten thousand times ten thousand angels who were singing this at the top of their majestic voices in verse 12:

Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!

Finally, every creature in Heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea came together and sang with everything that was within them in verse 13:

To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!

It was an incredible sequence of worship of the Deliverer, who He is, and what He has done and will do. When Jesus opened the scroll, the crying turned to praise and worship. The same is true for us. When we realize that Jesus is our Redeemer, Rescuer, and Deliverer for eternity, we go from broken to whole, sad to glad, and spontaneous worship breaks out in our hearts and lives. Like John and all of those in the heavenly realm, recognizing how Christ has set us free takes us from depths of despair to the heights of eternal joy.

    Revelation Chapter 5 Verse 4
And I wept audibly and bitterly because no one was found fit to open the scroll or to inspect it.

    Revelation Chapter 5 Verse 5
Then one of the elders [ of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said to me, Stop weeping! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root (Source) of David, has won (has overcome and conquered)! He can open the scroll and break its seven seals!

    God Is Saying To Me:
My child, you may weep in life because of things made by men. but rest assured that I, the Lion and the Lamb have overcome and conquered all of that for you. Don’t worry or get upset, rather rejoice and worship me with joy knowing that all that believe will know the intricate workings of everything when I call you and you too can see.

    What This Means To Me:
Rest in peace knowing that while here doing God’s work, I do not have to worry. The books, scriptures and lessons are for me just like they were for John and all the others in the Bible. Hold on to God’s promises and keep Him at the center of my focus. Sometimes in life, we have to be shown things that we are not capable of fixing or changing but that God can fix and change, just like the sealed scroll was shown to John.
Thank you God for purchasing our future with you throughout every people and nation and making us part of your kingdom, your royal race! I love you Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit! ❤️❤️❤️

Revelation 5:13 and I heard every created thing that is in heaven, or on earth, or under the earth, or on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, (singing) together, “to him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb Christ, be blessing and honor, and glory and Dominion forever and ever.”
We see everyone including animals worshiping, singing to Father God here in this scene and Jesus \0/

Father God drew my attention again on worship this week\0/
I can only imagine what it was like for John to get a glimpse of what was going on in heaven!
Seeing animals, angels and people all worshiping Jesus in this chapter at the end of this chapter in verse 13 worshiping Father God and Jesus!
So, Why do we worship Father God and Jesus?
Because we know He loves us and we love them!
Because we can trust them, Jesus came here to show us the way to live, He died for us so we could be set free from sin and be with them forever and ever
Ty Father and Jesus for Your love!
    God is saying
It’s all about love in your ❤️

And I sing this to the Lord
Thank you Jesus for this song

    I Love You, Lord

    I love You, Lord
    And I lift my voice
    To worship You
    Oh, my soul, rejoice
    Take joy, my King
    In what You hear
May it be a sweet, sweet sound
    In Your ear
    I love You, Lord
    And I lift my voice
    To worship You
    Oh, my soul, rejoice
    Take joy, my King
    In what You hear
May it be a sweet, sweet sound
    In Your ear
    I love You, Lord
    And I lift my voice
    To worship You
    Oh, my soul, rejoice
    Take joy, my King
    In what You hear
May it be a sweet, sweet sound
    In Your ear
    Take joy, my King
    In what You hear
May it be a sweet, sweet sound
    In Your ear
    Sweet sound
May it be a sweet, sweet sound
    In Your ear
    Oh, Jesus, sweet, sweet sound

God pulled my focus to Revelation 5 Verses 9 and 10 (AMPC):
9 And [now] they sing a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the scroll and to break the seals that are on it, for You were slain (sacrificed), and with Your blood You purchased men unto God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 And You have made them a kingdom (royal race) and priests to our God, and they shall reign [as kings] over the earth!

“My son, try to think of what it means to be worthy. Does it mean simply living your day to day w ith no change or effort? Or does it mean hearing my guidance and embracing the life I have laid out for you so that we may become closer? To be seated with Me is the absolute strongest achievement that one can ascertain. Think about that.”

When we focus our goals on earth our main goal should be to be seated with God by following His guidance in order to become our best selves. Our earthly ideas of worthiness fail in comparison to the grand achievement of embracing our spiritual nature with God. Not only that, but we are never alone while doing so. Thank you God.

This is what I got from Revelation 5. The representative of the kingdom of heaven is a Lamb, which represents humility, gentleness, and sacrificial love. The Lamb offers an escape from judgement by taking judgement upon Himself. When any soul comes to the throne of grace, he finds a sacrifice there provided for him to offer to Me. The eyes represent knowledge and wisdom, and the horns suggest power. When the Lamb took the scroll, angels and redeemed man join together to worship the Lamb. There is only one mediator between Me and you, which is Christ Jesus. The emphasis is on My work of redemption. The price of redemption was Jesus’s blood, which redeems you, and redeems you to Me. The angels and elders encouraged each other to more and more praise. You and other believers should encourage each other the same. Praise Me for the way I work in the lives of you and others. I reign eternally and live forever, and I am worthy of your praise.

What this said to me is God deserves all the glory and praise, for everything he has done for us. The price of redemption was Jesus’s blood on the cross. Because of it, I am not to take that for granted. I praise you Jesus.
