Every Person

Read This Week: Exodus 38

They made the bronze basin and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the women who served at the entrance to the tent of meeting. Next they made the courtyard. The south side was a hundred cubits long and had curtains of finely twisted linen, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and with silver hooks and bands on the posts. – Exodus 38:8-10 NIV

Exodus 38 is another fascinating glimpse into the construction of the Tabernacle that we have studied for the last several weeks. Still, beyond the vast and intricate measurements and materials, it reveals yet another lesson for us in our modern walks. It demonstrates, as only the Bible can, the power of community and the importance of accountability in the stewardship of our gifts, talents, and resources. No single person built the Tabernacle. It was a collective effort, with each Israelite contributing time, skills, and labor. This impact felt and seen through a group of people is not unlike how God’s work operates today. Every person in the Body has a role, and every one of their contributions is essential no matter the size, significance, or scope.

Everyone has something to give. Exodus 38:24-31 records the exact amounts of gold, silver, and bronze used for the Tabernacle, showing that many people gave willingly. Some contributed large quantities of gold, others gave silver or bronze. Some worked with their hands, crafting and assembling the pieces. Others contributed in different ways. Not everyone gave the same thing, but every gift was essential. This reflects a key truth that a community’s strength lies in the varied service and offerings of its people. In the church, workplace, or family, some people lead, others support behind the scenes, and others give financially, but all play a part.

We must recognize that our role – no matter how small -matters in our churches, workplaces, friend groups, and family. We can’t allow the enemy and our own brokenness to cause us to compare ourselves to others. Instead, we should serve out of what God has given us and celebrate the unique ways we are all called to give and be a part of the mission. We should encourage and uplift others in their callings and roles while understanding that our work brings glory to the Lord and is valuable when done for Him.

When we live in unity of our gifts and contributions, we realize that our spiritual purpose brings God’s presence. The Israelites were united in one purpose: building a dwelling place for God. Their unity in giving and working led to something far greater than individual efforts. It led to a sacred space where God’s presence would dwell among them. The same principle applies today. When a community of faith comes together with a shared purpose and a spirit of generosity, God’s presence and blessing follow. Working together with others is meaningful and fulfilling, and Father God is pleased when we seek unity and peace and avoid division and competition. He blesses us in multiple ways when we work together in step with His purposes.

Serving together with God’s heart and being good stewards of our gifts, talents, time, and treasure requires accountability. This chapter’s detailed record of materials shows that nothing was wasted, misused, or unaccounted for. This level of transparency reinforces the critical point that stewardship requires integrity. Whether handling finances, managing people, or leading a project, accountability ensures that resources are used wisely. In today’s world, where trust can be easily broken, honest and responsible stewardship builds credibility and strengthens a community.

God’s people should always practice transparency and honesty in decision-making. When we do that and hold ourselves accountable for how we use our resources, we raise the level of integrity among the family of God and strengthen our trust in Jesus and one another.

Exodus 38 is a powerful reminder to use our gifts and resources to contribute to God’s work. It encourages us to value the places and roles of others in the Body, and it challenges us to steward what we have with honesty and accountability. By embracing these principles, we can build strong, God-honoring communities where everyone’s role is valued, and every resource is used wisely.

    Exodus Chapter 38 Verse 26
A becca for each man, that is, half a shekel, by the sanctuary shekel, for everyone who was counted, from 20 years old and upward, for $603,550 men.

    ~Generosity And The Communal Covenant~

    God Is Saying To Me:
Did you know that giving is a form of worship? When you give of your time, talents, treasures and currency, you are committing and contributing to my service. Always remain willing and generous to contribute to my work, cultivating a heart of service in your life and community, accounting for all resources and generous offerings.

    What This Means To Me:
    1. To be generous givers, we must have a covenant relationship with God!
    2. We must cleanse and wash ourselves from sin by studying and following God’s word.
    3. Remaining obedient to God, we are free from sin and must not step out of our relationship with Father God.
    4. The cost of a covenant relationship is belief in Christ. For the Israelites, it was all of the expensive medals, threads and linen given by free will offering of God’s people and community.
    5. Christ gave Himself as a free will offering so that all that believe will be saved. Jesus paid the price with His life for us and it’s important that we do not take His ultimate sacrifice and gift for granted.
    6. God cares about us all and the relationship that he has with us. Just look at the number that was recognized in Exodus chapter 38:26 “for everyone included in the numbering from 20 years old and upward for $603,550.” God desires for us to value and participate in communal sacred purposes. ❤️

God Also Gifted Me This Additional Insight….

    Exodus Chapter 38 Verse 8
He made the Laver and its base of bronze from the mirrors of the women who ministered at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

~Take Your Eyes Off Of Yourself~

    God Is Saying To Me:
My child, I know you are an observant Christian but I want you to notice this one thing. Women love looking at themselves in the mirror and some men as well. When you focus on your image or dress, you are failing to recognize Me within yourself. The Israelite women donated all of their mirrors to use outside of the Tabernacle to create the bronze basin. By doing so, this is an act of taking their eyes off of themselves and turning them towards the things of Me, so I ask of you to spend more time reflecting on ways to contribute to My service and take your eyes off of yourself. I’m not worried about your dress or status. I desire faithfulness from your heart to Mine.

    What This Means To Me:
    1. The cleansing and purification comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
    2. Whenever we take our eyes off of ourselves and things of the world, our heart will begin to shift focus to God.
    3. When we dedicate ourselves to God and His purpose, we reflect God’s light and glory identifying and symbolizing our role in reflecting God’s presence and holiness.

The Lord desires to be close to you, to spend time with you, and for you to truly know Him. Have you ever considered that?

Jesus is not just a distant figure—He is real, and He desires a personal relationship with you.

God extends His love toward us, but it is up to us to respond. As we seek Him, spending time in His presence, we come to know Him more deeply, and in knowing Him, our love for Him grows. This is why He continually calls us to draw near.
    1. God draws near to His people and desires them to draw near to Him. He does not remain distant but invites us into His presence.
    2. Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. His invitation is for all, and the opportunity to know Him is freely given to everyone.
    3. We will all give an account of our lives before God. He sees all that we do, and He remembers those who serve and give from the heart. Live faithfully, and your reward will be great.

Building with God – A Reflection on Exodus 38

Everything matters to God. Everything we do should matter for God to bless His heart!
The details, the offerings, the obedience, responding to Him
it all has meaning because it all reflects hearts turned toward Him. In Exodus 38, we see the people of Israel coming together, each one contributing, building something greater than themselves: the sanctuary of God. This wasn’t just a construction project—it was an act of worship. A visible, tangible expression of their devotion and faithfulness.

And God was faithful to them, just as He is faithful to us. He delighted in their willingness to give, to build, to be part of His plan. He still delights in that today. He blesses us with His presence, not just to comfort us, but to work with us—to build something holy together. We are now His sanctuary. We are the living temple, and His Spirit dwells within us.

God is not distant. He’s right here—surrounding us, filling us, inviting us into deeper intimacy with Him. He wants to be part of every detail of our lives. And yes, sometimes it costs us something. Sometimes we make sacrifices, but when they’re led by God, they’re never wasted. They’re part of building the family—welcoming others into the same love and grace we’ve received.

It all begins with the heart. God sees our inner life. He’s not just watching our hearts He’s looking at our motives, our surrender, our willingness to say, “Lord, I’m all in.” Just like Moses, we may not build everything ourselves, but we’re called to listen, to lead, to support the ones God has chosen to carry out His work. It’s all part of the same mission—to bring Him glory and to make His presence known.

Today, we have Jesus—the living Word—dwelling inside us. And because He lives in us, we build differently. We give differently. We love differently. May our hearts stay pure, our ears attentive, and our hands ready to bless the Father who is always inviting us to build something eternal with Him.

Thank you Father God that I get to do life with You!
It’s a blessing to be able to do anything for You and the family Your family
I hope I get to be apart of of bringing a lot of people into the family
And thank you for all blessings to be able to worship you love you with my whole ❤️
Thank you that I get be Your sanctuary!
    That’s the biggest gift ❤️
    I love you so much❤️
