Here I Am

Read This Week: Exodus 3

There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.” – Exodus 3:2-4 NIV

Exodus 3 is one of the most well-known and profound chapters in the Bible. It is one where the ordinary collides with the extraordinary, and a runaway shepherd is transformed into a prophet chosen to deliver God’s people. This section lays the groundwork for the liberation of the Israelites from Egyptian bondage and introduces the depth of Moses’s character and divine mission. Everything from the setting to the peripheral circumstances to the miraculous way God revealed Himself is breathtakingly captivating.

It begins with Moses tending his father-in-law Jethro’s flock. He leads them to the far side of the wilderness, to Horeb, known as the mountain of God. Here, he encounters a burning bush that is not consumed by the flames. This extraordinary sight catches Moses’ attention, and he decides to investigate. As Moses approaches, God calls out from the bush, Moses, Moses! (v.4) Moses responds, Here I am (v.4). God instructs Moses to remove his sandals, for he is standing on holy ground.

God identifies Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and acknowledges the suffering of the Israelites in Egypt. He declares His intention to deliver them from bondage and lead them to the promised land. The Lord then commissions Moses to return to Egypt and lead the journey to freedom. Moses expresses doubt and insecurity, questioning his own adequacy for such a monumental task, particularly his speaking abilities. But God reassures him, I will be with you, and appoints Aaron, Moses’ brother, to be his spokesman.

Moses anticipates the Israelites asking for the name of the God who sent him. God responds with, I AM WHO I AM. This profound declaration reveals God’s eternal, self-existent nature. He instructs Moses to tell the Israelites, I AM has sent me to you.

This chapter contains so many life lessons. We are reminded that God often meets us in the mundane moments of life. Moses was simply doing his job when he encountered God. We must be attentive to the ordinary because it may be a gateway to a divine experience with the Lord. His Holy Spirit will help us recognize and respect the sacred moments and spaces in our lives as we approach them with humility and reverence.

We also see that Father God is aware of our struggles and has a plan for our deliverance. We have to trust in His timing and promises when faced with daunting tasks while remembering that it’s not about our capability but God’s presence with us. His assurance is our strength, and understanding His nature as eternal, unchanging, and self-sufficient helps us trust Him more deeply.

Moses’ story makes us keenly aware that God equips those He calls. When He sends us, He provides the necessary tools and signs to fulfill our mission. The Lord understands our weaknesses and provides support. He brings people into our lives to help us accomplish His purposes.

Exodus 3 is a chapter rich with theological insights and practical lessons. It reminds us of God’s holiness, attentiveness to our suffering, and desire to deliver and use us despite our inadequacies. As we reflect on this chapter, let’s be open to encountering God in our everyday lives, trust in His presence, and step out in faith to fulfill the tasks He has set before us. In our own journeys, may we, like Moses, respond to God’s call with a heart ready to say, “Here I am.”

    Exodus Chapter 3 Verse 5
God said, Do not come near; put your shoes off your feet, for the place on which you stand is Holy ground.

    Exodus Chapter 3 Verse 6
Also He said, I am the God of your Father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

    ~Submissive Service~

    God Is Saying To Me:
I am the Great I am! No man comes to me except through my son, Jesus Christ. Moses was called by name. I have chosen you, just as I chose Abraham, Isaac, Israel, and Moses. I will ask of you certain things that require reverence and humility. Always be ready to obey and serve me. There will always be depth between me and you, depth in the aspect that I am the Holy One. I am omnipotent and you are human. Always be respectful, submissive and humble like Moses. In order to serve me and understand the mission and calling. you must remain ready, humble and respectful, maintaining the spirit of servitude.

    What This Means To Me:
    1. We must show Holiness. We are not on the same playing field as God. As sinners, we are separated from God. Only through the blood of Jesus, are we set free. We must approach God with respect and understand that He is Holy. This is why God told Moses to not come any closer and to remove his shoes.
    2. God knew Moses’ heart. This scene in the Bible was orchestrated as an example for us to learn from. Moses must express reverence and readiness to obey God by showing respect and submitting to Father God’s calling to take his shoes off and not step any closer. We must do the same.
    3. We must maintain an attitude of servitude. Moses was serving by tending to the sheep of his Father-in-Law when God summoned him. For God to use us in a mighty way, we must humble ourselves and be ready at all times to serve Him in whatever way He ask and in whatever situation He provides for us.
    4. We must overcome feeling inferior before God. He promises to be with us, deliver us from evil and lead us to higher places with Him. He keeps His promises. We must be submissive, allowing Him to walk with us, delighting in His presence, walking hand in hand depending on Him, so we too can become leaders and call others to Him for the furtherance of His Kingdom. ❤️

Please read the whole chapter it’s a wonderful chapter!

Exodus 3:4 When the Lord saw that he turned away [from the flock] to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”

Let’s be like Moses and say, Here I am Lord.
Be ready to listen to Father God for He has wonderful things to talk to you about.
He has great opportunities, He is calling us to do something with Him and it will be awesome. So always be ready to listen and then respond to Him.

3:11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 And God said, “Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve and worship God at this mountain.”

When God gives us instructions to do something, we don’t want to hesitate or feel like we are not qualified.
If God is calling us to do something then we can count on Him to help us through it.
And then get excited and worship with Father God, Jesus and His Holy Spirit.
For me in the beginning of God calling me to do something with Him I felt like that, I said you have the wrong girl. There’s more that story, but I realized God was calling me into a wonderful ministry that I’m so thankful for today and I love doing everything that I get to do with Father God ❤️️
So don’t feel like you can’t do something, because you can and God is with you and He’ll tell you what to do and what to say!

Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I Am Who I Am”; and He said, “You shall say this to the Israelites, ‘I Am has sent me to you.’”

Whatever you’re doing for Father God and with Him, you want to make sure they Know who sent you!

What God was saying to me was never forget
I am with you, You are on a journey a mission with Me, I have called you to do great things with us!
My work is very important, it’s always going to be about helping others. Always know that I Am with you and I will help you and lead you in the right direction. Don’t forget to thank the people that I send to you to help you too!
I love to bless you because you love to bless others for Me. Thank you my daughter ❤️

Awe thank you Father God for all your Love and blessings ❤️
I’m so blessed to be apart of helping people to know You, how wonderful you are!
To know that you’re right here for us always and forever
And you have given us wonderful gifts and talents to do work with you!
This is my favorite job, more than anything I have done ever done!
Love you Father God, Jesus and Your Holy Spirit ️

This is a great song to remind us That God was with Abraham He is God Almighty
    He is with us too!
No matter what comes our way He is with us!
Thank you Lord that Your with us and you never let Go!

    God of Abraham

You are the God of Abraham
You are in command of every throne
You are the God of majesty
You saw the heart in me and made a home
And you have been my God, faithful through the years
Nations rise and fall, you are standing still
And you will be my God, what then shall I fear?
I know whatever comes, you’ll be with me still
You are the God of righteousness
You are my defense when I have none
You are the God of matchless grace
And in my darkest days, you still hold on
And you have been my God, faithful through the years
The nations rise and fall, you are standing still
And you will be my God, what then shall I fear?
I know whatever comes, you’ll be with me still
Oh, you’re always with me, Lord
I know you’ve never let go
I know you’ve never let go off me
I know you’ve never let go
    And you never will
I know you’ve never let go
I know you’ve never let go of me
I know you’ve never let go
    And you never will
I know you’ve never let go
I know you’ve never let go of me
I know you’ve never let go
    And you never will
I know you’ve never let go
I know you’ve never let go of me
I know you’ve never let go
You have been my God, faithful through the years
The nations rise and fall, you are standing still
And you will be my God, oh, what then shall I fear?
I know whatever comes, you’ll be with me still
Oh, you have been my God, faithful through the years
The nations rise and fall, you are standing still
Oh, you will be my God, oh, what then shall I fear?
I know whatever comes, you’ll be with me still
And I know whatever comes, you’ll be with me still
I know whatever comes, you’ll be with me still
Oh, you’re always with me, Lord

Have you ever been on a mission with God? Had a divine appointment, a special assignment where you reached out to someone and did something with God? In our men’s group, we like to call these moments “God ops” – special operations with God.

I’ve discovered that when God draws your attention to something, you can ask Him questions, and He will guide you on what to say and do. Then, you just need to be bold and courageous and carry out the task with God.

It’s incredible to witness how God works and how He allows us to be part of His ministry and miracles, transforming lives for the better.

    1. God will draw your attention to certain things and people.
    2. It’s okay to ask questions and listen to God’s instructions.
    3. Be bold and courageous as God directs you on your mission, your special assignment with the Lord.

This is what I got from God in Exodus 3. The burning bush should remind you of the cross. The bush had some thorns. You can think about Jesus wearing the crown of thorns and enduring the fires of judgement, and yet He was not consumed by them. It is a symbol to My people that you may be afflicted, but not destroyed, because I am with you. My Son Jesus is revealing to you, that he suffers with you and He refines you. I frequently use the ordinary to do the extraordinary. You may feel there is nothing special about you, but you are in the perfect place to Me to use you. I want you to obey My calling in your life. Sometimes My word does not touch your heart the way it might, because you don’t give it your attention. I know who you are, and you are important to Me. I care and connect Myself to your needs. I am faithful and unchanging. I know you, I call you, I transform you, and I forgive you. I may not speak to you unless you are looking for Me. I want you to be ready to listen, ready to respond, and ready to obey. I am faithful. If you have repented, are you still holding onto your sins? I am compassionate. I will not ignore your suffering. I want you to express your gratitude for everything I have done for you. I want My people to be built up in their faith, and to build up others in their faith. I will be with you and speak through you to others always, if you will trust Me. I never want you to stop serving Me. I am sovereign and in control of the future. “I am” refers to My unchanging nature. I am the same today as I was in the past, and in the future to come. I will always provide for you. I am in control, and I will deliver My people.

What this said to me is I need to pay more attention to God’s word and truly study it, so that I can hear from Him. I need to look more for Him. I need to be ready to listen, to respond, and obey. I need to quit holding on to my sins. Once I repent, I need to let them go. It all comes back to me truly trusting Him. He is always with me, and He never changes. He wants me to openly share my gratitude.
