Being Deliberate

Read This Week: Leviticus 9

They took the things Moses commanded to the front of the tent of meeting, and the entire assembly came near and stood before the Lord. Then Moses said, “This is what the Lord has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the Lord may appear to you.” – Leviticus 9:5-6 NIV

Leviticus 9 shows us the beginning of Aaron and his sons carrying out their priestly duties, offering sacrifices to atone for their sins and that of the people. This chapter, set against the backdrop of the newly established Tabernacle, reveals the detailed and spiritual balance between divine holiness and human responsibility. The priests’ intentional adherence to God’s instructions once again highlights a timeless truth: worship is not a casual act but a deliberate and obedient response to God’s presence.

As Aaron prepares the sin offering, burnt offering, and fellowship offering, each step is prescribed by God, emphasizing that approaching Him requires reverence and alignment with His will. For us in A Week in the Life, ancient worship rituals, animal sacrifices, and priestly practices seem far removed from our daily lives in the modern world. Yet, the principle remains that God desires intentional devotion, not just emotional spontaneity. It calls us to ask the question: are we approaching our worship with the same care, ensuring our hearts and actions align with God’s standards? This is a tough question for us but one that should be asked of believers with a greater responsibility to serve Jesus and communicate His word and love to those around us.

The chapter’s enduring theme is evident when God’s glory appears, and fire consumes the offerings, a powerful affirmation of His presence. The people’s response, shouting for joy and falling facedown, shows awe and submission to the holiness of God and His will. This divine fire, both a sign of approval and a reminder of God’s sovereignty and power, invites us to consider how we experience His presence today. Do we expect God to show up in our worship, or have we grown complacent, assuming His approval without seeking His guidance? We are appropriately challenged in this passage to prepare our hearts, much like Aaron prepared the sacrifices, trusting that God will meet us where we are when we honor Him with obedience.

The priests’ role also communicates the importance of leadership in worship. Aaron’s actions bridged the gap between a holy God and His flawed family, pointing to the ultimate Mediator, Jesus, who fulfills the sacrificial system. Christ is our Mediator and intercedes on our behalf to the Father. But we need leaders like pastors, parents, church servants, and mentors to model faithful worship that draws others closer to God. This example of spiritual leadership is crucial to the kingdom and cause of Christ today, especially amid the prevalence of subjective truth in society and Scriptural ambiguity. We need leaders who are committed to standing in the gap for others, just as the Lord asked of the priests in Leviticus.

Finally, this section invites reflection on the cost of disobedience, subtly foreshadowed by the tragic events of the next chapter. The priests’ careful obedience here contrasts with Nadab and Abihu’s later failure, reminding us that God’s holiness demands respect and a response in accordance with His will. This reaction isn’t about legalism or religiosity but about recognizing that our freedom in worship comes with accountability and follow-through. Today, we may not offer bulls or goats, but we’re called to present our lives as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1). Leviticus 9 is another movement toward greater responsibility and a call to examine our approach to God. Are we being deliberate in offering Him our best, in obedience and awe, or are we coasting on convenience?

    Leviticus chapter 9 Verse 6
And Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commanded you to do, and the glory of the Lord will appear to you.

    Leviticus chapter 9 Verse 23
Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came out they blessed the people, and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people [as promised].

    Leviticus chapter 9 Verse 24
Then there came a fire out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.

    ~The Glory Of God~

    God Is Saying To Me:
You are a new creation and must have faith in My promises to you. Our work together requires obedience to following My commands. So pray daily, a righteous prayer asking Me for forgiveness and forgiveness of our nation’s sins. Advocate for all people, the sick, the poor, the unsaved and by helping others to know Me. Be a living sacrifice, morally pure and humble to set an example for others. Blessings given are blessings received. Cary your self-righteously and always seek My guidance through the Holy Spirit..

    What This Means To Me:
    1. We have been forgiven of our sins by faith of Jesus’ crucifixion on the cross.
    2. Having faith that God will keep His promises and our needs to help us show others that they too can believe by faith and trust father God to make good on their life as well.
    3. Ask God for forgiveness and encourage others to be forgiven by God so they can comfortably pray for others in bold faith.
    4. Pray righteous prayers, pure and holy in thought and motive and pray for our nation’s sins and the sins of others. May we always help others to learn to deny the flesh, find genuine love for God, lead a life of humility, be a blessing to others, seeking God’s revelation through the Holy spirit and reaping God’s glory through the manifestation of the Fruits of the Spirit and His peace. God says, “Don’t take your job as a servant lightly!” ❤️

Father Fod also gave me more revelation using the verses above and adding Leviticus chapter 9:22.
Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them, and came down [from the altar] after offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and a piece offerings.

~The Grace And Mercy Of God~

    God Is Saying To Me:
Just like the fire in this chapter, you must keep your fire burning in your heart and life. Use the fire, The Holy Fire, the fire of grace and mercy given to you, else you cannot serve me acceptably.

    What This Means To Me:
    1. God desires for us to dwell in Hi house with an eye of faith beholding, the beauty of the Lord.
    2. God’s glory, which we may see, is a manifestation of His acceptance of our service to Him.
    3. Turning away from God’s wrath is shown by the consuming fire as acceptance from Him and likewise, God consumes our soul, and sin by grace and the quenching spirit.
    4. Keep the fire burning! Bow humbly to Father God accepting His manifestation of Himself in our lives. Do not allow sinful fear to drive you away from Him. Have a durable faith fueling the Holy Spirit, not by common sense, but by faith and continuous communion with Him. I love you Lord and want to serve and love you in prayer, worship, reading the word and sharing you with others. ❤️

    Leviticus 9

God Confirms the Calling with His Glory

In Leviticus chapter 9, something powerful and beautiful takes place: God confirms the calling of Aaron and his sons with His visible Glory.

After seven days of ordination, on the eighth day—a number that often symbolizes new beginnings

Aaron and his sons step into their ministry as priests. God is affirming them, marking them, set apart to serve Him on behalf of the people.

The Israelites didn’t always understand God’s ways. They had witnessed miracles: the Red Sea parting, water from a rock, bread falling from heaven, and God’s voice thundering at Mount Sinai. But now, they’re witnessing something different and deeply personal: ordinary men, washed, anointed, and ordained, stepping into a holy calling—while the whole nation watches and learns.

God was teaching them reverence, not fear—honor

While Aaron and his sons were set apart as priests, the entire nation was called to be His people, shaped to reflect His holiness in how they lived, worshiped, and treated one another.

The people’s role was to bring their hearts to God—desiring to worship Him, trust His appointed leadership, and be witnesses of His glory. God’s glory showed up visibly among them to confirm His presence and His pleasure with their offerings.

    Leviticus 9:23–24 (AMP):
“Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came out, they blessed the people. And the glory and brilliance of the LORD [the Shekinah cloud] appeared to all the people [as promised]. Then fire came out from before the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell face downward [in awe and worship].”

    This was God saying:
“You’re ready. I’m with you. I’m pleased with your offerings. I’m putting My glory on display so you’ll know it’s really Me.”

How This Speaks to Us Today

Back then, God’s glory would appear outside of people—like fire or cloud. Now, through Jesus, that same glory lives inside of us. We are now the temple of the Holy Spirit!

When you help someone for Jesus, you’re His helper—letting someone see His glory at work. That’s a blessing

When you stand up for truth, pray, worship, or obey Him even when it’s hard—His glory shines through you.

When your life changes and others see it
that’s His glory at work, transforming you from glory to glory to become more like Jesus.

God’s glory isn’t a reward for perfection. It’s proof that His Spirit lives in you, changing you daily, confirming you belong to Him.

Just like He confirmed Aaron and his sons, God still confirms your calling today. Sometimes He shows up in small ways: a prayer answered, a word at just the right time, a door opening you couldn’t have opened yourself. It’s His way of saying:

“I’m with you. Keep going. I’m pleased with your obedience.”

Are you bringing your heart fully to God?
Where is He inviting you to show His glory in everyday life?
Let His glory shine in you and through you

What Was Happening in Their Hearts
In that moment, the people’s hearts were being touched.

They were seeing that God was real — not just distant , but a holy, present God who desired their worship and obedience. They were learning reverence, learning to trust, and realizing that their lives were set apart too.

This visible glory was more than a sign — it was an invitation
“Come closer. Live holy. Reflect My heart to the world.”

They didn’t just watch God’s glory — they responded to it. They fell on their faces in awe and worship, recognizing that this holy God was calling them to live differently, to carry His name with honor, and to trust Him fully.

    A Prayer for Greater Responsibility

    Father God,

Thank You for revealing Your glory then and now. Thank You for choosing ordinary people and making us vessels of Your presence. Just like You called Aaron and his sons, You have called us to live set apart, to reflect Your holiness, and to show Your glory in our everyday life.

Lord, awaken our hearts. Teach us true reverence and honor for You. Give us courage to carry the greater responsibility that comes with Your presence. Help us obey You fully, love people deeply, speak the truth and shine brightly for Jesus. And speak truth to help others to be set free! ❤️❤️️

May Your glory in us draw others closer to You. We fall on our faces in awe and say, “Here we are, Lord — use us for Your glory.”

In Jesus’ mighty holy name, Amen.

Did you know that God has good plans for you?

That might sound like a comforting phrase we’ve heard before—but it’s far more than just a cliché. It’s a truth rooted in the very character of God. It’s echoed throughout Scripture. And it’s meant to be lived out—proven—through our lives.

I’ve found that when God gives me instruction, it’s always with purpose. Sometimes I don’t recognize it right away—but as I begin to listen, and as I begin to move, things become clearer. It often starts with something He draws my attention to—then He begins preparing my heart and mind as I learn to hear Him more fully. He gives me instruction. He prepares the path. And then He invites me to step into the plans He’s set in place. And as I walk with Him—not before, not after, but right in the middle of it—I begin to see His provision. I see His help. I see how He’s already arranged what I didn’t even know I would need. I see His hand. I see His miracles woven into the very plans He’s written over my life.

And this isn’t just truth for me. It’s truth for all of us. Every Christian has a calling. Every believer has a ministry. If you belong to Christ, then He has good plans for you—and you’ve been entrusted with God’s purposes for your life. Each of us is accountable for what we’ve been given. We’re called to live it. We’re called to walk it out. This is our responsibility. This is where blessing comes. And this is how we see God’s glory revealed—in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

    1. God keeps His word—so we should make clear plans and follow through.

Plan with purpose. Write it down. Follow through with faith and integrity.

    2. Preparation isn’t enough—you have to act.

Hearing alone won’t change your life. Obedience will.

    3. Obedience brings God’s presence and power.

When you walk in His will, you’ll witness His hand at work.
